Also running across this when doing hotfixes on our latest release. When we run our smoketest suite, it is an issue if the smoketest suite has evolved in the meantime (the new/adapted tests will work on our development environment, but not on our staging environment). Therefor we would need to be able to 'branch off' the test suites when we do a release.
